EDU is proud of the trust that Marienhaus-Gruppe places in the quality of EDU’s medical training. For two years and with five cohorts of EDU students, Marienhaus clinics have had very good experience in clinical training in the EDU medical programme. With 11 hospitals at 16 locations, Marienhaus-Gruppe is one of the largest healthcare providers in Germany and is very committed to training medical talent.

In order to sustainably improve the supply of young doctors in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, the Marienhaus-Gruppe awards scholarships to prospective students from these regions.

The Marienhaus scholarship not only facilitates studies at EDU but also endorses EDU’s concept of bringing medical education to where it is needed most: The hospitals of Marienhaus-Gruppe provide primary and priority care in their regions and suffer from the lack of local medical schools. In EDU’s medical programme, theoretical training is available online and location-independent, while clinical training is provided locally with partnering hospitals. Currently, EDU medical students have the opportunity to acquire their clinical skills at Marienhaus Klinikum St. Elisabeth Neuwied, Marienhaus Klinikum Eifel Bitburg and Marienhaus Klinikum in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

Drawing from the positive experience with five previous EDU cohorts, the Marienhaus scholarship programme further strengthens EDU’s approach:
In addition to financial support for their studies at EDU or two other partner universities, scholarship holders benefit from personal mentoring by a Marienhaus doctor, extended education programmes and participation in the Marienhaus summer camp.

At EDU, students can expect state-of-the-art digital learning methods and resources. They enable them to study medicine in their own region while preparing them for the demands of tomorrow’s healthcare. Personal mentors and tutors and a dedicated student body at EDU furthermore provide close guidance and support throughout the course of study.

Interested candidates from Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland who would like to complete their clinical training at Marienhaus teaching hospitals can find out more at www.marienhaus.de/stipendium and submit their application for the scholarship by 15 April 2022.
